Howdy,

I was browsing around recently, and saw some of the posts in here, and was very suprised to learn about the prices some people pay for a unique serial number. Since then, I have been looking around at bills to see if I have any special ones, and I seem to. I also have some older bills I took out of curculation, and I was wondering if anyone knew wether or not they held a premium value above their face. Being new to this, I greatly appreciate any input.

Thanks,
Anthony

the star note... maybe a little over face....and the last one...if the last digit was a 1 you would have a radar or mirror bill (same #'s forwards and backwards) and they are worth $$$...check ebay and see the many varieties of bills to search for...the others unfortunately are face value only...you also want to look for low serial #'s....eg..00000376...ladder bills...e.g..12345678 or 87654321....also web bills...these were done on a web press...you can see them here... http://www.quadrigaancients.com/web/
thats off the top of my head...there are others....oh yeah...silver certificates...gold certificats and large dollars(good luck finding one of these)....if i remember more i'll post them

in 1960s folks thought that the Barr notes would be worth a premium and many dealers paid good money for them. Barr was only secretary of the treasury for a month. Now we know that he managed to get his name on over 300 million one dollar notes. Now they need to be star notes or nearly new to be worth a premium. siegfried schlagrule
