Enlisted service hat aka visor cap device, if bronze in color it's an US Army version, if silver in color it's an USAF version. Here's the USAF version on mine and my Dads caps. Since there is a ring around the eagle, it would be a one piece design. Both males and females wore the same style insignia in the USAF, unlike the US Army.

If the eagle were bronze and had a solid disc behind it, that would be the US Army two piece version which is for males. If this one as pictured is bronze in color it would be the female version of the US Army insignia.

Thanks for the good explanation and ID.. This must be the Army version you mention without the ring. I dont know about the Boy Scout version...

Bigcypresshunter, yes the one you show is the male version of the US Army enlisted hat badge. Also a few years ago the USAF did away with the requirement for enlisted to wear the service hat, so the USAF version will not be available in future. I know the US Army changed their uniforms so I don't know if their version will be available in the future either.
