Any Ideas as to What This Rock May Be?

I found this near an area where I have found a lot of mineralized copper within quartz monzonite. This canyon is known for its silver and small gold deposits. It almost looks as if someone dumped glitter down the rock. It can't be scraped off with a nail. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

May I ask what goodies? I know I keep saying this but we have that silver ' glitter ' thing here, too. My husband is a chemist so he guessed pyrite without being positive.

Take a knife and scratch off some on a white paper. Look at it with a magnifier and see if you get scale like flakes or crumbly jagged or squarish debris. Mica's will show like flakes and scales and pyrite as described. Schist will act like mica as well. Depending on the amount of silica some schists are harder than others.
