Not real sure but looks like a emblem for a horse bridle or saddle. I'm sure someone on the forum will help.
 

Ok thanks I appreciate any help I can get I’ve found lots of colonial buttons but nothing like this it’s much larger about the size of a silver dollar
 

Yup, bridal rosette for a horse. Looks like lead soldering on the back, which would date it probably early 20th century, perhaps a bit earlier. Nice find!
