I recently worked at an auction house and many times people buy a lot of things and leave behind what they figure is junk or is not appealing to them. I recently acquired this office chair because despite the fact it's in about as rough shape as can be, I really liked it. I now have to move and was deciding to sell it but I have no idea what exactly I have.. It's always puzzled me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! [I'll post this in the antique chair section but there doesn't seem to be any traffic there]

*Note: I have done the DOMORE office chair Google image search and it looks very similar to the 1920's models. Just trying to see if anyone knows anything for certain.

After doing further research, I've come to the conclusion that it is without a doubt a DOMORE

Are these chairs pretty hot?

Do they have a good resale value?

You can get a couple hundred for this size in better condition.. More for the taller ones.. I will ask $30 for this one because it's a definite restoration project.

Nice to know.

I have seen these before, so I'll have to do a little more research on them. Who is buying these chairs, and why do they want them?

The just have cool lines, cool design but not very comfotable imo. Nothing special really other than that. I wasn't about to let it get thrown into the dumpster

Thanks, WIT.

I always like learning about new items. Like they say in this business, you never stop learning.

Of course, the way my luck seems to run, the next time I find one for sale, I'll buy it to find out later that the bottom has dropped out of the antique office chair market, LOL.

Cool chair. Very Industrial looking. Here is an ad from 1941-

I have one as well. It is in a little better shape and green in color. It is definitely a DoMore. I have a stamped plate on the back of the backrest and another ID under the seat. Small tear in the seat cushion and starting to deteriorate. If anyone knows anymore about these anything would help.

I have one that I've had for many years after rescuing it from the office of an accountant who was a good friend of my mother. The office had been in the same place since the 30's & the storage room was full of all kinds of stuff, but this chair really spoke to me. It's a wonderful chair!!! Very adjustable & extremely comfortable!!! It's in dire need of re-upholstery; sadly, there was a leak in the ceiling of the storage room that was there for quite some time before anyone noticed & the upholstery is in quite bad shape. But, I'm capable of doing the job & it will serve as my sewing/computer chair for many years to come.

Cool chair! I'd gladly give 30$ for it. Does that include shipping to Ct?!!
