I got permission to a 1920's farm house a few days ago. The owner said their nephew had detected it in the past I stopped by there today for a few hours. They were right, someone didn't leave me much. I dug about $1.00 in modern clad. The only keeps I dug were a 1944 P silver war nickel and a piece of antique bling.

Any ideas on the age or what this jewelry piece is???

I was able to get a picture of the Tenn Trio passing through my area too. :tongue3:

Thanks for looking,
MM

The Bling, is it silver?????

Sorry, I forgot to mention that. I think the main piece may be silver. Lots of small detail in it and it cleaned up like silver. It's heavy too. Couldn't find a marking though. :dontknow:

Man, that's a nice piece! Large and very ornate. Looks like silver to me too. All I know is that it's D*** cool!

D, What you have is a Filigree necklace. Judging by the the shape of the center piece and the balls, it looks to be Art Deco. Think about the dresses and hats from the Roaring '20s . . .there was fringe and all sorts of 'hangie-down' parts, so the balls and all the other elaborate things that would 'shimmy' on this necklace lends itself to be Art Deco.

Neat score :)

Wow, nice old-time bling a great find! You should carefully sniff out the area to see if there's more "goodies" to be had. HH and more great luck to you this season!.....

Not too bad for a site that's been hunted before. There's always something left behind. I kind of take it as a challenge when I hear a site has been detected before. Nice finds MM.

Thanks Breezie. I knew you would come through for me.
BTW- I have that same dress. I only wear it on Sunday's to detect in. :tongue3:
You're the BEST!

Thanks everyone. I dug the antique piece next to a large tree stump on the side of the house. Found a few mason jar lids too. There were 8 acres behind the house but the grass was over a foot high.
I didn't even know I had dug the war nickel until I got it home and cleaned it up.

That's a really nice old piece, marking act was 1906... :icon_scratch: So I'm sure it predates that !!

Keep @ it and HH !! :hello2:

I do believe you're right, MM. It's not that far from Tennessee...and I can see one of them has an orange hat on, so that confirms it. :laughing7:
Super find on the necklace! That's pretty jazzy~ ;)

I thought yours was red. :happysmiley:

Jewelry is always a great find but Art Deco is just the icing on the cake. Great find.

I do believe that middle one is DMan, MM. You can tell by the way his beard has been heavily waxed and sticks out! I believe Breezie should include pics in her ID's more often. I am liking it! Living in Amish country, I don't get to see legs very often, lol.
Very nice jewelry find and it looks like Breezie nailed it. I bet that made you catch your breath when you first saw it. A War nickel is still on my wanted list. Good luck on your next trip.

Really nice find. I like the filigree necklace. I may need a better picture of it to put in our new book, (Identifying Civilian Relics). We plan to put Quindy on the cover.

You truly are the most interesting detectorist! How do you find time to detect with all those book signings? Lol.
