Bayonet scabbard tips and sword drags were made from brass. Though I see some brass in your picture I dont think it's gonna be a scabbard tip or sword drag. I aint got a clue what it is...d2

Other than the brass tip, is it iron? or wood?

Can you post another pic of it next to a ruler? So we can see how big it is?

The upper part is made from iron. When I get home from work I will take another picture next to a ruler. It looks to be about 6 to 7 inches long.

I do believe that it is a very good possibility that it may be a powder horn, or at least part of one. Good Eyes

Could be. Except it was found in the middle ofthe woods right on the battlefield. I was looking...and it could be junk, however it has a hole that runs up through the shaft consistent with a powder horn.....If someone can post a pic of the same object and show that it is modern than okay.....but for the time being it looks to have heavy wear as if it were very old..PBK if you could help me out I would appreciate it.
