Another short hunt ends silver coin slump...

hit a 45-d Merc at 5.5 today vdi reading on the dfx was>81. Hunted very slowly actually was hopeful that I would find a wheatie or two...After 2 hours and only 32 coins...I crawled under the bleachers and picked up another 26 coins in 1/2 an hour...most surface or just below...nice to be back in the dirt again after a downpour...woodchips are ok..but I like to play in the dirt!

I thought the pulltab was gold...so I kept it anyways...saw it shining in dirt...oh well..man I had trouble with bottle tops also today...they were fooling me! Really put a drag on my first 2 hours...

Finally been 3 months for a silver coin..and thousands of coins...I have better luck with quality rings >17....junk rings i fling!

I have been detecting since April 23rd. So far I have found: 383 Pennies 26 Nickels 72 Dimes 47 Quarters
11 wheat pennies 1 1957 dime 1 1957 Quarter.

I cannot even imagine finding 1000 coins by years end let alone over 5,000.

I thought of your comments today as I was hunting and when I found the Merc...thanks...but the weird part was when I changed back to my other style of hunting and popped all those shallow coins from under the bleachers... slow to fast...I was beat! And it was no where near my big days...
