Another short hunt ends silver coin slump...

hit a 45-d Merc at 5.5 today vdi reading on the dfx was>81. Hunted very slowly actually was hopeful that I would find a wheatie or two...After 2 hours and only 32 coins...I crawled under the bleachers and picked up another 26 coins in 1/2 an hour...most surface or just below...nice to be back in the dirt again after a downpour...woodchips are ok..but I like to play in the dirt!

I found a 45 s merc today made my first post and got looking around and saw yours it is a good day for 45 merc's they are one of my favorite coins to pop up out of the ground. good job

Nice Merc, Gregg. Your goal is getting closer. I hit my 5000 today. Congrats on all the finds, and nice job under the bleechers. The ones I've looked undr haven't produced much. I think it is because that is one of the first places others hit around here. Congrat, and way to go Bud!

I can not imagine hunting as many times a week as you do digging all of those holes...I hunted like 13 hours each day this weekend and only dug like 100-150 holes...And I am so sore I can barley walk. God bless ya for being in better shape than I....On a side note...You can use your clad for a massage when you hit 10000. With the amount of hunting your doing you may need it!!!

Glad you were able to find one also. Mt son collects coins...9 years old lost interest...well you know he has avery very nice run of mercury dimes we bought at coin auctions...my second favorite old coin...weird my first>>.the wheat penny! (maybe because I can find them once in a while...no just kidding the wheat penny has always been my favorite...good find!

I actually found 4 silver coins the first few months I hunted so I thought it was easy...well that was 3 months ago since my last one... thats ok...I found my calling...clad! The only way to find anything is to be out there digging...

I went to the same park this morning...went under other bleacher near end of hunt only a few coins...but we had another major storm and the ground was soft as mush! So I had a heavy pouch...you will be seeing the manilla folder today!

Hey and great work passing 5000...I have been going out daily now been nuts...so after today 2-3 days off...been a crazy run!

Well I am starting to feel the aches/pains...but oddly enough since I increased my hunting my arms seem to want to keep going...my knees for the first time all year are beginning to be a problem...I had a big day today...will post later...thanks!

Once again thanks everyone....and Ricardo you are right I was out 7 of the first 8 days in August....time for a rest! I am having nightmares of digging zincolns!
