!!!ANOTHER LARGE CENT AND MY BEST FIND YET-A 1777 SPANISH REALE-I THINK!!!

SO WE WENT BACK TO OUR SPOT THAT HAS PRODUCED INJUNS, HALF DIMES AND LARGE CENTS ALONG WITH A 3 CENT PIECE TODAY. BOY WAS IT A GOOD HUNT. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A 1777 SPANISH REALE BUT IM NOT SURE YET. IT WAS ABOUT 9 INCHES DOWN AND GAVE A VERY IFFY SIGNAL. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS A CANADIAN SILVER. I ALSO GOT AN 1845 LGC. HOLY COW I CANT BELIEVE IT. I THOUGHT THE DAY WAS GOING GREAT WHEN MY PARTNER FOUND AN INDIAN HEAD PENNY. THIS IS MY 3RD LARGE CENT IN A WEEK. HOW CAN I CLEAN THIS COIN WITHOUT HURTING IT. I WANT TO GET THE DATE OFF OF IT. ANY INFO ON THE SILVER COIN WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.HH

Looks like a reale to me, congrats! Not sure on a cleaning method.....can't wait to see pictures of it after it is cleaned though.

Guessing it's a half real (18 mm in dia.) since the "R" is by itself and is not preceeded by a "1".

Nice finds, A good electrolysis bath should clean that reale up nicely.

That LC is as nice as you could hope for. I would Not clean that. But the real i wouldn't electrocute--unless you have had Lots and Lots of practice and intend to do the job at 1/2 an amp or less! I would consider using baking soda and gently polish it. It still is not the greatest solution, but if you want it clean, so it goes.
