Whilst dad & I scratched our head about where is left to try, we remembered a grass field where we got our first Cannon Ball. It was an OK choice as 2 horses where keeping the grass low & everywhere else is 2 foot high.
For a grass field which I'm pretty sure has never been ploughed we did pretty good (I think there was some earth movement but not plough)

1696 Shilling8-) (don't get too many)
Toy Gun - most complete one I have had, normally only get the butt end, so the iron hammer is cool!
Circa 1800 'Toy' Cannon (A pleasure to find, & I can't remember how many years since my last one)
13th C Ring Brooch with Pin:thumbsup:
Lovely condition Medieval Casket Key8-)

I like the finds especially the police badge. Why would you need a key to a casket???? To keep the stiff in or other stiffs out????

Love those finds and I really like the key! Tennessee digger

Well done Cru! Looks like these horse paddocks are a great alternative!

Another good day in difficult times!:notworthy:

Great finds! I always enjoy reading your post.

Great stuff. Beautiful casket key, toy cannon(!), nice silver, and some other great items. :)

I thought the same thing! Were they worried about zombies or body snatchers?

ha ha......
Difference in US/UK meaning - a 'casket' is a small wooden box to keep your valueables in. A little like a jewelry box.

Well done, nice finds in the horse paddock. I'm still looking for my first toy cannon and a real one for that matter. The possibility of finding older history in the ground on your home turf would not allow me to sleep, ever... Art
