Whilst dad & I scratched our head about where is left to try, we remembered a grass field where we got our first Cannon Ball. It was an OK choice as 2 horses where keeping the grass low & everywhere else is 2 foot high.
For a grass field which I'm pretty sure has never been ploughed we did pretty good (I think there was some earth movement but not plough)

1696 Shilling8-) (don't get too many)
Toy Gun - most complete one I have had, normally only get the butt end, so the iron hammer is cool!
Circa 1800 'Toy' Cannon (A pleasure to find, & I can't remember how many years since my last one)
13th C Ring Brooch with Pin:thumbsup:
Lovely condition Medieval Casket Key8-)

I just love Shillings, and you got a nice one there:thumbsup:
The aqua patina on your key reminds me of that seen on crotals,
not the usual green found on most copper alloy...
I believe I see a 'Thruppence' there, strangely I've dug 2 (allium types) over here :icon_scratch:
Concerning the curved item below your thimbles, I have a duplicate except for an acorn on the terminal,
I'm thinking it is a wall hook with attachment screw rusted away, (stain on mine also)
You likely know exactly what they are and probably have an 'acorn' example to boot :laughing7:
please enlighten me on these..
Nice to see your Finds! Best Wishes, Herbie.

Yes, seen the acorn type, not sure if I have one. They are referred to as 'coat hooks' & yes the iron/steel screw part is missing. However, never found any which have the spike (although many with the same terminal). Makes me wonder how coat friendly they would be:dontknow:

I'm truely at the end of ALL the options, until the rain stops (not looking good) & they can do the first hay cut:cross:

Very Nice William III Shilling Cru, congrats :occasion14:

Rain rain Rain here too, and Ticks.
Better days is comin :)

Don't mine detecting in rain but its putting back the harvest, as for ticks, I'm glad we only have a few but they hardly ever get on humans.

I'll swing in the rain too :laughing7:
you are very fortunate the local bugs don't care for humans,

venture anywhere there is grass or brush here, and you will have dozens

of the disease carrying critters in short order..
Glad I can still hunt on the coastline:hello2:
Best wishes to you!
