Ancient Vaults, mines and crypts

interesting boulder off in the distance. Have you been to it?
Yeah it seemed to be an Eye-catcher but the compass degree was off from 75 degrees. But no I didn;t walk over, was kinda bad weather off and on when we drove down.

Really nice pics & interesting info.
Far as giving much away, how likely?
Since probably no one would ever know
where, or even be able to visit anyway. Thanks
Ok, here's the peep site thru the rock cairn at 321 degrees . Also interesting side view (I like the abstract animal face) and top view with pointers. I will metal detect that area at some point in the future, So not alot more to say about it. Didn't follow up on it that trip , like I said bad weather off and on.

The side view abstract animal face seems to be peering to the right, the same direction you look thru the peep in the rock stack. I would imagine many of these type markers are modified or taken down by other treasure hunters/sentinels. This one one seems pretty intact and worth another visit.
You have to see somewhat into the abstract, but it can get carried away as well. Tough to do . Moderation I suppose.

It's cool you got to go again & had a safe trip.
What camera are you using? Pics are clear.

Still have no idea who did the rock cairns, they don't seem to be that old. Maybe 50-100 years. Bizarre.

Just using cell phone, a samsung s10 I think. Getting better with lighting on it. Technology, don't need to carry camera much anymore. Probably upgrade soon. 1000 dollar pocket computers, who would have thought? Nice car payment for family subscription plan....

Yeah cell phone pics are impressive, unwittingly got an aura beaming up out of some
ground rocks with an older Samsung S7 just walking along taking a few pics.
I like the intricate small carvings in the sides too.

It's like , what's yur hobby? ... I'm a sentinel or well versed treasure hunter and I stack rocks in certain abstract arrangements to mark locations with great value... pffft.

Notice the side view right side eye looking the direction given is a shadow line to a box? tunnel chamber symbol

I'm not certain it gives "the spot", but I know I'm in the general area one way or another. Rarely it's straight forward, but still worth a look around with what's being given kept in mind..

Shape of peepsite thru cairn is a cap stone.

Heh, the left eye of the side view abstract animal face is a shadow arrow pointing to where you look from. lol. Abstract on the abstract.

Looking back thru the pictures, I see quite a few things I missed. One possible old open cache spot even below a giant owl. 1st pic in post #16. Gone anyways

I see that, looks ripped open, rocks strewn, & a few small subtle carvings.
Almost a heart-shaped opening. Or was it a trap where the rocks fell down?

I'll show how to find an ancient mine.... first you look for a vault / vault markers in the bottom wash canyon... just big boulders/ pinnacle type markers.. not gonna show them. but gonna show the mine spot across the canyon from them.

Here we go. Tailings give all the mines away.......

Geologists call it natural talus. But, I took all those those geology courses myself in college. Those aren't natural. You have to determine which are which. Many are not natural talus. uniform size talus is not natural in a rock slide. Not a rock slide and many others are not that are thought to be. Just look at the surrounding areas. fairly easy to determine. I suppose the best way to find the entry point would be to go near the top, but it's hard to determine whether it's already mined out.
