You're opinion is respected IP, thanks for the input one this find.I can't imagine it would change any unless an outside force does it. Lead is way more stable than pewter that dries out and can crack or cracks get worse. If you were concerned that it could break by handling it or whatever, you could use the elmer's glue button method on the back to give it a little strength. Personally I would just display it and not handle it much.

Not a everyday one for me.
Does the anchor style relate to date/era?
All I have gotten around here is R/R seals it seems. A few others but not a common find on the homesteads it seems. Being on a trade canal and having a warehouse on the property bought in lots of stuff for the company store(s) and surrounding commerce.Honestly I have no idea, but it's definitely a nice seal. I have a good collection of earlier French ones but strangely only one decent early British.
Thanks BartWay cool seal...congrats pepper !!
Jim,Thanks Bart
You dig Spanish silver from ship wrecks, I dig a British lead seal.
The anchor is the only similarity but a cool one.
Happy New Year, hope your 2022 is just as awesome.
My chances finding another seal like this isn't good.Jim,
Maybe you can trade your lead seal for some Spanish silver....do you think Bart will bite.....

super cool seal, nice saveWent back to the mill pond for a few bites. Bit of poison Ivy and few keeper.
The lead seal reads J Hustler & Bro. Manufacturers
On the back are the numbers. I haven't had the chance to research the seal yet.
I also managed to get a little cuff button and a complete turtle shell.
