I'm a new treasure hunter who wants to get some ideas and help. I don't count metal detecting everywhere as treasure hunting, I call that scavenging. I would say a treasure hunter is a person who looks into old stories, drives there and digs it up or finds it. When I saw a website called Treasurenet, I thought there would be a bunch of treasure hunters I could talk to, not just a bunch of people finding random coins in the ground. If there is anyone who is like that here, would you please comment and give me some details about your past hunts?

Most of the guys are doing some research and a few are on some projects. I've been working on one for 25 years.

But on the site, there is a mix of regular metal detecting, gold prospecting gem and rock collecting and of course some treasure research and discussions.

What treasure are you investigating or interested in?

I've mostly been researching stuff in Georgia (where I live) so I can get some good experience before moving on to bigger things. I've found a lot of stuff that just looks like urban myths right now, and am currently trying to sift through them to find something substantial. However, any potential big hunts all over the US would be fantastic.

joining a forum such as this and making an opening statement that basically puts down the majority of members here isn't much of a way to make friends. I would imagine most anyone here will ignore you on account of your arrogance. Everyone here is a "treasure hunter" at heart, it's just that not everyone has the time or financial means to do much more than "find a bunch of random coins".

While your out searching for your treasure those yard hunters will be filling their own chest. A silver coin is just that whether 1 or 100. Yeah everyone here would love to just go out and find hidden hoard of gold and silver but it’s more realistic to find coins and things from old home sites. Ya ain’t gotta put nearly on this site down because you don’t like it.

All I'm saying is, I need help finding big hunts. Also, in my research, I've found at least three potential million dollar finds only a couple of hours away from me. Sorry if I came off as arrogant, I'm only trying to get some help, and am trying to attract some people who can help me do so.

of course you've got the confederate gold up near Washington Georgia.
I believe a gold stash is across the street of Robert Toombs house.
That is the last House Jefferson Davis met with some of his followers and split up some of the gold. The house across the street is identical to his.
If you were going to hide some gold before the union soldiers arrived, where would you put it?
on your own property where union soldiers would search, or someplace you could easily see through your window.

Then on one of the farms up there, near Washington is supposed to be some hidden confederate gold.

Also, down near Irwin, where Jefferson Davis was captured is supposed to be hidden gold.

What treasures, urban myths where you interested in?

It's not a good start to join our forum and start off insulting the forum and members.

We have forums on everything from gold mining, panning, to metal detecting to collecting Indian artifacts.

You obviously know nothing about what is found using a metal detector.

The largest gold nugget found using a metal detector is "The Hand Of Faith" It weighs 876 troy ounces (27.66 kg) and measures 47 cm x 20 cm x 9 cm.Just the melt down value alone would be $2,803,200.

Hundreds of millions of dollars have been found with metal detectors including mulriple treasure hoards in England.

I have found about $30k in melt value of just gold jewelry not counting the silver alone with my metal detectors and there are members here who found a whole lot more than I have.

What have you found so far?

I've never found anything, being a newcomer to this whole business. Once again, sorry to anyone who was offended by this post. I didn't mean to make anyone angry. Sorry. I'd love any help I can get from any experienced treasure hunters.

I'm not angry, and maybe you were not aware how you were coming off, read the title of your thread again and opening post, you may understand it better.

Welcome to TressureNet, the original and first treasure website on the internet, founded in August, 1995 on the Net.
