Alice In Wonderland Chess Set

Hey there.

I've been recommended to this forum by another member, and so far I am very impressed!

I recently moved house and in the attic we found a huge box, really heavy, filled with wrapped up pewter figures. It turned out to be a chess set, complete with pieces and board. My dad worked for a greek ship owner and the statues were handmade for this guy's daughter - when he tried to travel back to Greece the airport said it was too heavy, so this Greek left it with my dad for the next time he visited.  We never heard back from him and my dad forgot it was there until we found it.

It's handmade in the UK, made from pewter and is in near perfect condition.

I have no idea what they are worth, or how old they are?
Can anyone help?
