Age on axe head

3rd variety of old axe head ive found, the other 2 were easy to identify... this one not so much... the other 2 in my collection are 1880s this one looks older (being it doesnt have the butt end) its flat on one side which is odd....

i saw similar varietes... but they all had the butt end.
 

just noticed the back end isnt actually attatched...

appears to be split, i believe it to be a hewing axe, not sure on age tho

I think what you have is a axe head that was pounded on to split wood and the end got pounded out of shape and split.
