Aftermarket Headphone adaptor for Equinox

Update for those interested. Bought two adaptors for DIY wired headphones. One off fleabay, the other from kellyco. Both have the same issue, the Male threads are about 1/4" too long and do not allow the tightening ring to mate up to the face of the port. Thought you all ought but t to know.

This is true of other third party accessories also, such as the LS.PELSO waterproof phones. ML must have a custom part manufactured for their accessories because all 3rd party screw connectors seem to be exactly 1/4" too long. At least they are not too short and risk lack of complete engagement of the audio plug. Functionally, this is a non-issue because there is an internal O-ring behind the detector jack to prevent water intrusion into the detector and as long as the front of the connector (which is usually made of a compressible seal) seats against the bottom of the jack cavity space which forms a secondary seal to prevent water from collecting in the jack space (ahead of the internal seal). It is good that folks know about this, so thanks for posting.

Female connector on detector side has internal o-ring, I bought kellyco cable that is waterproof, added external o-ring to make side of connector, now both coil and headphones have internal and external o-rings.

Good to have a backup to the backup.

Maybe someone knows.. if possible for equinox to use wired headphones and bluetooth adapter at once?
I mean, 1 person holds detector and listen with wired connection.
And another person nearby listen from bluetooth wm08 module from same detector.

Ok, let's straighten things out a little. First, the WM08 is not bluetooth, it is a Minelab proprietary low lag wireless protocol. The Equinox allows you to either listen via a single set of bluetooth APTX LL headphones or up to 4 WM08's connected wirelessly. To answer your first question - specifically can you hook a set of wired headphones up to the Nox control head and simultaneously listen through a BT headset or a wired headset connected to the WM08? the answer is YES! The wired headphone connector is still live and not cut out when the BT headphones or the WM08 are connected. Only the speaker is cut out. Also, you cannot simultaneously connect to BT headphones and to the WM08.
