ACE 350

I have had my 250 for about 2 years now and am happy with it. It is what it is - a $220 detector. I got the 11x14 DD coil for it last year and it really does well now. Most of my buddies use minelabs or whites and I frequently find more than they do. The 350 looks like a dressed up 250 to me. Why do I need more iron segments? am I hunting iron? Why change the frequency to 8.5? While this makes it more sensitive to smaller targets it also decreases depth, am I looking for shallow BBs? The double D coil is a definite improvement but I feel like Garrett could have done more for the $90 price increase. I hope it does as well as the rest of the Ace line, Garrett is a great company and has much to promote our hobby. That's my two cents worth.

I have a bounty hunter land star right now. Do you think the 350 would be an upgrade for me? I'm seeing the 350 on ebay "ready to ship" from a company called texas premium. Anyone ever used them before?

I haven't seen one yet. I know the 350's are in circulation now as I played with one last week. Matter of time maybe?

I would have to say that the ...New Garrett AT Pro... and the Ace 350 both use the same 8 1/2 x 11 DD pro coil.......................... And there is a coil cover for the AT Pro.................... I would say that coil cover will also work on the Ace 350 So if you can not find one call Garrett they will get you one.

My wife is interested in the 350, however it seems to be the Garrett stepchild right now.

No in depth reviews to speak of. Looks like the AT is the topic.

What I have read sounds pretty good, though!

I used an Ace 250 as a backup unit, and even as my primary detector for a while. For a beginner it is a good solid investment. You may also want to consider the new White's Coinmaster or Coinmaster Pro. They have some good package deals right now.

Well I ordered my 350 today, been using a white's V5 for coin shooting and it does very well and have found many, many coins, but the one I have just doesn't go as deep as I would like. I played with a friend of mine 350 and it hit on ever target in my test garden that my Garrett 1350 does.

I just had to give it a try ;D

good luck on the New Year.

Anyone have thoughts on the 350 usage in heavily mineralized soil? I had a whites prizmII for 4 yrs in Texas and Oklahoma. I liked it alot for a lower end machine. Great for my budget!!! But recently I moved to Arkansas...... And the prizm II plipped out on me. Many of the places I wanted to detect made the detector sing non-stop. It would always give the large 50 cent signal. But now the whites has broke down on a recent outing to Texas. Im looking at the 350. Any input about its reaction to the heavy minerals in AR soil. I had to turn the sensitivity way down on the whites. Made it hard to find targets deeper than 2 inches. Do yall think the 350 would be better here in Arkansas?
