A Thought And Challenge

I didnt ask for sarcasm and the like.... it is just that most people in this forum act like experts.. telling how to find caches... how can you instruct others if you havent found any yourself? Throw personal insults at me if you like, but the point still remains... this is the only forum that does not have pictures posted to document finds.... yes there are some caches in other forums, but none here.... I am all for finding such post hole banks, buried mason jars etc, but it appears that the posts here are pipe dreams and what ifs... with no payday... as for the government, you really think they patrol this forum every day looking for people to track down and tax? They havent done it to the guys finding 10,000$ relices and coins, so why would they do it just to you? No one has yet to answer my challenge... save 1 scanned coin pic that could be from anyplace

Are you only seeing 1 pic from Real de Tayopa? I see 2 and the first shows a youngster looking at a pile of coins. These photos have been posted here before and do show a found cache (or whatever other term one would use to describe it).

As for the statement "how can you instruct others if you havent found any yourself?". There are countless subjects that one may have real and correct knowledge of without having ever actually implemented or proved that knowledge. To use the subject of cache hunting. If someone were to approach you and ask where to look for a cache would you tell them to just start digging holes or would you make suggestions based on their site as to the best places to search?

I wish I had pictures of a found cache to placate you but I have never found one. However, if I were to look for a cache at a site I would probably start by looking around big trees, rocks or other interesting natural formations.

They exist - just gotta look in the right places.........

thank you for posting the currency pic.... it is amazing! Dad always said put up or shut up.... so I thank you for putting up.. having saw this.. i will now shut up

I'm certain that many folks would not want to post because they worry about their right to keep their finds being challenged. In my case, it doesn't matter - I didn't keep them ! They were turned over to the estate of the person that stashed them. There were also numerous old coins - mostly silver, but there was one $20.00 gold coin as well. Everything was found in a variety of places, evidently stashes were made, then forgotten about.

Good morning Ladies & Gentlemen: I have posted that picture various times simply because the statue of limitations has run out, and also it is in Mexico. My mule taught me some common sense, "I ain no stinking idjit".

Incidentally, that skinny gal was destined to be my wife after I had fattened her up.

One gets that way from not having enough to eat while growing up, the same thing that is beginning to show up in the US..

I, at least, am glad to hear it.

And Don Jose, how could you so badly mislead such a lovely lady? Blessings to you both!

Aw come on Gray Cloud oblige him (Milton)...been waiting to see one of yours!

heed the wise words of that old cache master Confucious. Keep your bowels open and your mouth shut....

I agree with #13. Keep you mouth shut, or you may lose everything. The best way to sell old coins is by coins auctions. I have found nothing but trash.

wha about the guy that found the clay pot full of silver dimes last year he posted pics and the other guy that found the bags and pipes full of coins and 2 or 3 other tneters know him and his wife and have seen the cache he found no pics due to the very very large amount found hhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmsome folks belive that hard physical proof is bragging and some old school fellas on here grew up llooking at thta as bragging and bragging is not being very well mannered

I have a post on t-net right now of a silver cache I found in April of this year. If I ever find another ( and I will ! ) ;D ;D . I would not even tell my wife! People act weird about it. The value of mine was not that great since It did not have any extremely rare coins, Almost all silver Bullion. My one detecting buddy does not come around any more, Let alone hunt with me ! I had someone else start following me around and looking for my truck!! I don't know what it is! because Like it was said in an earlier post I have seen single gold and silver coins posted on t-net that were worth more than my 5 and 3/4 lb cache People just act weird about it!! I come on this site and learn what I can from others !! There is always another angle I can glean from someone else That I might not have thought of on my own. !! Take what you can from this site and leave the rest. I enjoy the advice and encouragement I get from the so called experts on this site. I think I would be less likely to believe they were experts if they were frequently posting cache finds! I know I never will again! MaineRelic.

You have to tell your wife everything and give her 50% of evrything you find. Merry Christmas.

Ok computer experts......How about getting another forum name, and posting our finds under it, use the name Anonymous or something...or can someone (IRS) investigate good enough to track your IP/NIC address and locate you?

If they can then we don't do it!

Bragging about cache finds can get you poor real quick. First are a whole bunch of people who
step forward and claim their share; they either told you about it, they knew about it first, on their
land, they had a claim on it, it belonged to their ancestor, etc. Then if it is over 50 years old
(1959 or earlier) then there are multiple government agencies, historical agencies etc. that
want to take your antiquities away from you and even fine you for digging them up and lastly
the IRS will want their share even if you lose it in court.
Whatever you are left with is fair game for all your poor relatives and friends. You will get
multiple requests to lend or give a few dollars to all of them and the ex-wives who will take
you to court for more alimony. Just look at Lotto winners who are broke in no time at all.
There is an old Italian saying, "MONEY IS ROUND AND IT ROLLS AWAY"!
So, don't expect any large caches to be pictured here. Small ones maybe and they are just
as hard to find as the larger ones.
Have fun,
Rich

Many pro treasure hunters agree with the last writer. Be wise, and keep your mouth shut. But, pay your state and federal income taxes.
