Not trying to disrespect any of the other states, but if you have Ohio stuff , show it off here!! Ohio(chuck), requested to see some of my better finds and I know most of you have seen them. We seem to have a pretty nice following here of Ohio hunters, so lets get a thread going here of our nice Ohio finds. I will get it started off with some of my better finds in the 13 years of artifact hunting that I've been doing.

Here's our chance to REPRESENT for our state , Ohio!!!!!!!

Some great artifacts so far..
I had the chance to look along the Miami River for a short hour one time. I found the circled piece. Could have been a tool, anyhow it was found in Ohio!

Another great thing was family and I were on our way home from vacation. Paramount Kings Island,
and Cincinnati museum. The museum was astounding !!!

You two have really been racking up this year. I think we may be in for some rain here real soon w/all the rain south of us. I have a few fields that look promising if they get washed down some. I have been on crutches for a while now , but am getting able to hobble around a little bit lately. If we get some good rain, that might just be the inspiration I need to get back to walking on my own again.

Well, I guess post 100 deserves something special from our great state. I wish I owned this but I look on the farm where it was found, and whenever I see the farmer is not too busy I ask to see it again. I guess at 38 I should learn not to be out playing basketball against the 20 year olds anymore. Had that young punk down 4 to 2 when I turned my ankle real bad. Been on crutches 3 weeks. That ankle turned black as coal and swelled up like a balloon. Right when all my hutin' seasons are in too! Oh well , live and learn.

I have been hunting that site for 13 years and have found alot of nice stuff. I have found celts , tons of broken slate pieces(still looking for a whole one off this site) , and alot of points. The site has alot of Adena culture and quite a bit of archaic also. A real fun place to look. I have found pieces of pendants, gorgets, bannerstones, all on this site. It covers 5 fields and about 150 acres. Here are a few pictures of some of the flint from this place.

that is a nice show of ohio lithics twig.alot of woodland types and pieces.have you ever found any paleo pieces in that spot?incredible huntn spot.good luck findin that whole slate piece,i am with pick on this one,theres gotta be whole one pop up sooner or later.know how you fell man,i hurt my feet working this past june and couldnt hunt for 3 weeks,it was prime huntn time before the corn got real high and it was driving me nuts.goodluck

This is the thread that keeps on giving. That banner preform is phenomenal! Here's a couple recently aquired Morgan county Ohio pieces, a Coshocton paleo lance, and transitional point with some sweet early flaking. What type are these auriculate transitional pieces? I see them called transitional all the time but never specific too the type.

thanks jeff, that makes sense because after the research I've done on this subject the hi lo type is the oldest point with shoulders that fit the time period and area.

Thanks naturegirl 09 has been a great year for artifact hunting due to losing full time hours has let me hunt more than normal.Theres alot of hours put in hunting probably to much according to my wife...
