For years I would go to a friends dads house and always liked this neat axe. He used to walk the creeks and rivers. After his dad had passed. My friend asked me if I was interested in the sharp stone. I didn't pay much for it. His dad had mounted into a nicely done pole. He must have glued it in so I would have to find a way to carefully remove it. The color of the axe is very nice. What do you think? You cannot hurt my feelings. Like everything else at 75 the feeling are numb.

Your axe head is called a “Celt”. No glue is necessary to hold it in place. It’s tapered and gets tighter with use. I think it looks good in that handle. Leave it! This is a Celt I made and hafted. Made from diabase, an igneous rock. The handle is black ash. It’s surprising how well they work on small trees. And a good head knocker as well.
