A "lot" of unknown's

I'm just trying to get a few items I.D'd.

Let me know what you think. There's a few! :D

This button/attachment feels and looks to be of age. Note, the top od button and right, have tiny holes pointing to an attachment. However, the reverse has been fashioned with a button shank

Flintlock pic?

Linstock end?

Here's a very strange one. The field this came from was a Tobacco field in the 17-mid 1800's. It has the feel of Tobacco. The iron crimps appear to be old. No, its not plastic. What I'm trying to decipher is, could this be tobacco from years ago? It was well preserved between two plates of iron when dug.
Is this a way tobacco could have been crimped? Note, the membranes to the left of the photo.

That's exactly what Buckleboy was thinking.

Absolutely, Big Cy. I keep thinking that that style of attachment shouldn't be too hard to pin down, but I don't think it is CW. I wonder if it is pre-War. (I don't know much about the pre-war plates)

Cheers,

Buckles

Seems mighty small for an attachment .. not much bigger than the penny.

But it is an attachment none the less. But the question is to what?

I guess that depends on what one's definition of an attachment is. Those posted above are attachments off of the back of buckles.
Yours looks different to me, and almost self-serving, making it an accoutrement rather than an attachment device. It is certainly small and light weight, so I can't imagine that it was used for any heavy service applications. May be just a small strap buckle of some sort.

That's what I am guessing as well

Could it be a decorative attachment on a pair of suspenders? :dontknow: Soup

Or A hat band?
Probably. Or maybe a decorative leather belt attachment .

I guess it's another cool, but unknown relic to go in the display box.
