A GUIDE TO VAULT TREASURE HUNTING (Condensed)

Wouldn't larger immovable rocks be preferable to living plants that are susceptible to dying and disappearing due to a number of possible causes?
The sentinel on the job is keeping all you say in mind, ssoooo, if a tree is hit by lightning and burns up, if the saguaro should die,
it would make no difference because he would replace such with another and rework his map if, or as, necessary. No problem.

The Cacti and trees are used as helpers to remark trails the old markers and the crisscross spots, the sentinels will do a tiny bit of freshening up rocks by chiseling on them (make fresh marks on them) But real stonework is pretty much dead not to mention it would be far too conspicuous to people not in the know (fresh chisel marks), The sentinels use things that would not really be noticed without their trained eyes. The old stone chisel marks are nearly faded away at this point from weathering.

They do try to use cacti that are the longest living(saguaros) and of course long living trees, when they use rocks especially cairns, only they would know how to read them or they had a map from them, but for the most part they are just helpers, most of them are just trail markers, but they still use the old permanent rock markers to find the caches along with their helper markers.

And as Elh said, when one dies they replace it with another new one and put its new location on their map, and no they do not replace the old one with the new one in the same old spot, they pick a new spot.

When your on the intersection of the "A" frame line with the other lines as well as the dig spot if it is not at the intersection--is the "U" notch normally visible?
Have you seen sites where multiple "U" notches or eyes are visible?

Second are you going to show us in a easy to understand manner how to read a stone map?
When you have a stone map--is the part you read always on the bottom portion of the stone?

I am looking for to your lessons--as all of them have been GREAT LEARNING EXPERIENCES!

Barton, Normally you cannot see the shaft sign or any holes from the crisscross spot, as far as the buried stone maps I have not been able to decipher any.

If you guys are interested I will show a dug crisscross spot with the marker in place.

Here is what was on the ground at the crisscross spot before digging, there was an old log that I removed laying on top of this little circle of rocks.

After digging I found these rock markers, the bottom one I am pretty sure is a variation on a heart.

Here is a front view of the same rock markers, I circled the carved Pentagon marker, and also the piece of wood that I had removed from directly over the rock markers.

Here is the crisscross spot before I moved the wood, I also circled the turtle looking in that direction as well. Something else about the turtle, under his shell is a shaft sign.

Thank you Sandy, very interesting. If I had known this when I was 25 years old I would probably been there to learn more in person and help you.
Thanks also for your great help to the newbies AND the oldies who could not find the handle.

No just a sun spot, I have never caught an aura in close like that.

When you have looked at buried stone maps--did you see clear cut man made marks on them?

I will let you decide, look at 1697 as those are the buried markers carved at the crisscross spot, I have dug up everything from hearts to birds heads, so they are definitely shaped, if your asking whether they look like the Peralta stones the answer is no.

Here is another marker I dug up.

Sandy,
All great info, what do you think it is?

Thank you for sharing this with us Sandy1. Was this marker found in the same hole where you found the previous 2 markers that you posted? Perhaps found deeper in the hole under the first markers or was this marker from a different hole altogether?

Is this particular marker an owl? Are these markers just used to confirm you are in the right spot and to keep digging or are they used to send you to a different spot?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

This marker was found about 20 feet from the crisscross spot, If I had to Guess I would say it is an owl.

As far as what they are saying or going to that is something that only the people who put them there (and probably the sentinels) really knew/know how to read.
