A Fob, A Buffalo, Tax Tokens and Money from the Bahama's?
Another beautiful day in Alabama and DiggerBug and I hit our new site. Started out with a wheat penny and regular change, then got this really bad looking Buffalo nickel. That's OK though...I'll take it. Now we're in the middle of nowhere and I'm doodling along and I get another nickel signal. Dig it and out pops this dime from the Bahamas. Now who would have been here from the Bahamas? Strange! .......I know, I know! It was one of those that came in a bus to hunt this place!! Or maybe it was DJ who lost it while he was hiding spoons for me to find. :P I ended up with a variety of finds...the usual tax tokens and a button...the weight looking thingy, (I think I saw one of these on here in the last couple of days) it has a hole in the top but not on the bottom. And what I think my favorite find of the day was this watch fob! It was REALLY dirty! You know, the kind of dirt that sticks like cement and don't wanna come off! Well after soaking and scrubbing for hours, I can see that on the front what looks a man sitting and sewing. At the bottom of the front looks like it has 'A stitch in time'. On the back looks like it says A E Anderson & Co, tailors, Chicago. Sound familiar to anyone? I've tried to find info on it, but came up with nothing.
Thanks and hope ya have a great weekend!!!
