So I haven't posted or even so much as looked at Tnet for a month or so now...due to the freakish October snowfall that destroyed the trees here in Connecticut. I operate a log truck so my job has been full bore lately...not a lick of time to detect. However, Thanksgiving has gifted me with a 4 day weekend....I had a nice little 4 hour window today so I decided to fire up the old prizm and hit the ground sniffin. I went to an old foundation that really hasn't produced anything to write about but I decided that I better give her another shot....the ground has been very moist lately so alot of the deeper targets give off "surface" signals. Right off the bat I get a couple suspender buckles side by side....pretty cool. Iron in these conditions produce awesome signals so when I got a solid quarter/ half dollar signal I wasn't really phased. I just dug what seemed to be a couple tons of junk iron. I seriously almost gave up on this nice little quarter, my machine doesn't pinpoint anymore or give me depth...so it's tough. I actually covered my hole and was ready to walk away but still got that pesky quarter signal....I found rust in the hole so I figured it was just another piece of scrap....but to my suprise after pinpointing a bunch of junk, I seen BIG SILVER ON EDGE!!! WOOOO! I made a goal this year...SEATED QUARTER...and here she is, my first. I'm on cloud 9 now....I manage to get a nice thimble, a religous pendant, and a button before the day was up....also got this State of Massachusetts thing....funny that it was dug in Connecticut. lol......thanks for lookin folks!

Yeah 2.5 years is a long time to wait for a dag gone seated quarter......geesh.

Congratulations on a rare find.

I have been dirt fishing for 12 years

and I am the only one in my bunch

that has found one, an 1860 light stamped O.

You just don't see many Seated and before

quarters jumping out of the ground.

Excellent recoveries Sniffy.
Congrats,
MM

Great 1875 Seated for sure, i remember finding my first, i was on the cel phone calling my detecting buddies !!!

For whatever reason the Quarter was my hardest Seated to pull.I dug five Halves 4 Half dimes, and 8 or 9 Dimes before I dug mt first. My buddies dig em all the time!My second third and fourth have come with a little better frequency though

Cool beans ! I'd play the pick 4 tonight...4249 or was it 4942 ? Either way...nice finds...hh

Nice looking seated!!! Congrats :icon_thumright:

lifts up her drapery ::) SWEET!

Congrats on finding your first seated quarter, I have only found one as well. Mine came out of the ground black on both sides but I still treasure it. The patina on your coin is really beautiful.

I'd put that Mass thingy up in the watsit post. I think it might be an early liscense plate. Don't take my word on it though as I'm no expert in that field. Nice seated :icon_thumright:

Haha.

Great find Sniffy! And great tale too about covering up the hole then just not letting it go. Perseverence pays off with a beautiful coin!

Wow everybody is getting seated coins in the last week!

Nice Seated Quarter And Relics :headbang: Wet ground does seem to give up the Goodies better

Cheers ;D
