A Colonial Relic Hunter's Generosity to a Great Landowner

Today, The Three Datectateers got out to the site that yielded us 6 large cents last Sunday. :headbang:

Well, since this site has already given us the kind of items that we search for in this great hobby, I decided to set a goal for myself...a goal to give back to the landowner a piece of history off of his land. :icon_thumleft: As the day progressed, I noticed that I had 3 Injuns, and a 1941 wilver dime in my datecting pouch. Well, to make a long metal datecting story short, I gave the landowner the 3 Injuns and the wilver dime that I had recovered earlier on the trip today. Colonial KirkPA also gave his 1920 wilver dime and a few relics to him as well.

Even though I don't have a coppa or Spanish wilver to post, I just wanted to show that we, The Three Datectateers, do have a kind metal datecting heart. :D :headbang: The landowner loved our generosity, and we thanked him greatly for allowing us to hunt on his historic piece of property. :notworthy:

All in all, I found 3 buttons, 2 horse rings, and a potential musketball mold. The one button could be a coppa, but after 2 hours of tumbling, there wasn't enough detail to give myself credit for it. It could be a coppa, but only the coppa could actually know if it is indeed a coppa. :D

As always, folks, keep that Colonial fever higher than a Colonial fever could ever get! :occasion14:

Kyle

Note: The Injuns were dated 1893, 1901, and 1902.

Ok, at the risk of sounding like a complete [prohibited word deleted - violation of terms of use - attempts to circumvent this word filter may result in member banning]...what is a wilver ? When I saw it once I thought someone hit the wrong key (w instead of s) but then more than once in the post. Sorry, guys, I'm not up on the hip terminology.. ???

Who said it was "hip"?

:D :P

Thanks. I thought maybe there was more to it than that.
I didn't know I shouldn't have used the "i" word in my post. I was referring to myself,
not another user. Oops. I don't wanna get booted. I'm obsessed with T-Net

Kyle, you, your bro, and your uncle are generous dudes! Happy landowners means being able to detect some potentially great sites without any hassles.

Knock'em dead out there next time!!!

Many a time I have had a landowner let us hunt just one time for whatever reason. Giving something back like you did will guarantee that you will be welcomed back any time. It is almost as if you make friends with them and a friend can't turn another friend down. Nice pieces you fellow found.

Most property owners are cool , long as you show them your a Colonial Master Recovery Specialist :read2:

Whats even better is that many a gracious land owner / farmer has led me to old Colonial sites they are aware of and I'd have not otherwise found :icon_study: :icon_scratch:

'Specially the older senior type citizens....Love talking to them and how they can remember when "Over there was the old smity place , uhuh , he was killed by the indians in his front yard" !! Dont laugh , I've been told that !!

I'm always more then happy to give finds , even the better finds to land owners , KKC ( BDD ) knows how to treat those kind folks as well :headbang:

You guys have built a professional / knowledgeable reputation with them and when you show them their land has historical value they must be in awe !!

AWESOME finds Kyle :occasion14: .... I am curious about the coppa - uncoppa . I have a thin KG coppa that is mostly silver plateing on one side and the seated lady on the back ... I though button but no visible shank or remnants of a shank .

Anyway HH !
