"A BUSTED LADY! That dang SE!

Man, This has been one wild ride of a week. I can't believe it's gone by so quickly!

Basically, I'm retired. I have the time to pursue this MD'ing mania like mad. And, I am. I've been from Raton, New Mexico to Pueblo, Colorado back and forth, forth and back. The last several days I've tried concentrating a little closer to home; Trinidad, Colorado. Anyway, the weather's certainly been strange; rain, hail and snow. Throw a 70 degree day or two in the mix also and you definitely have one weird drink! :)

Anyway, a record coin week; at least for me. Several "don't know whats". An 1828 Busted Lady, an 1863 Seated dime, a 1903-1914 Dime, a brass something or other Olive tree coin, a 1909 V nickel. I also found a mess of melted silver, appears to be quarters and a silver dollar? Anyway, don't wish to brag; just been working extremely hard to find this stuff. There's also some sort of Chinese coin there also.

SE owners; if you find a hot pocket increase your sensitivity to max and gain to at least 8; it does give you a lot more depth. I dug the 1863(53?) dime for example at almost 10 inches.

Amazing GRB!!!!! That is a pretty long walk from Raton aint it? Just kidding. I'm jealous of all that silver. What about the ring?

Re: "A BUSTED LADY! That dang SE!

Awesome variations of finds and a big congrats on the old silvers, you have a hot spot there! I was lucky with an 1825 German silver today. HH, Mike

Hey Guys!
Yes, I'm getting into the hang of it again! That SE ain't no Garrett, I tell you now! Lol!

I've been concentrating on old schools, churches, buildings no longer standing (foundations onlY) that sort of stuff. That loot represents a lot of pull tabs, junk and iron for sure. In case anyone's wondering, my back and shoulders are a tad sore! :)

*And Jeff, with the price of diesel I'm about to start thumbing! :)

Thank you for your interest!

Like the 1828 :)

Re: "A BUSTED LADY! That dang SE!

That silver diamond ring looking thing? Sorry, I forgot about that one. To my untrained eye, it appears as fake as Dolly's hooters. There's some sort of print inside the band but my eyes are quite bad and I not a loop have. My wife tells me I'm the world's greatest pessimist; the glass is always half empty. She may be right but I'll still bet that ring's junk. :)

Thanks,

Re: "A BUSTED LADY! That dang SE!

Nice collection, I have been out the past few nights with the new SE. I found some interesting things, just taking my time learning that machine. Love the photos - what a great time I am having doing this.

Re: "A BUSTED LADY! That dang SE!

Beautiful finds!
I'd like to know what that round thing is with the bar running through the midddle of it.

I found on of those the other week.

Re: "A BUSTED LADY! That dang SE!

Hey Guys,
You know, I love finding this stuff. But, as fast as I do I'm on to another. I just don't waste much time looking at it other than trying to clean it up a bit. Believe it or not, I'm big into guns-reloading and my brass tumbler (using walnut media) cleanses this stuff up pretty darn good. At least, that is after I first give it a good handwashing in dishwashing detergent. :)

Man, you just don't answer your mail! Lol!
I hope those pointers I mailed over helped you with the SE. Although, at first I found mine very frustrating I think I am finally getting a handle on her! :)

*Blue!
Thanks for the invite; be careful what you wish for! I love Washington state!

*Ken!
That round thing with a bar through it?
It appears to be some sort of lead object. It does have several numerals on it. It's concaved with #4 on the reverse. I think it's a slug of some sort. It sure went bang on Little Miss S E! :)

Thanks!
