UPDATED PICS

I went to a place I call zip city. It's a modern park, never expect too much and usually that's
what I get. It's a place where one can expect clad and maybe hope for a bit of bling. The hits are just regular
enough to be able to stay interested but there's not much trash. So, it's usually a nice peaceful walk.

As you can see from the bulk of the finds:

( a "no value" token)

This is why I call the place "zip city" :) .

You KNOW what my title line might have been if this had
been the best find today. ;) LOL

BUT.....

The star of the day AND of my lifetime of hunting!

I'm walking along and I get one of "THOSE" hits. You know.
89-91 in ALL directions? Plain as day? Only a couple inches down?

Some do a victory dance when they happen upon a lifetime find but I tell
you I don't do that sort of stuff. BUT....in this case....I did do my personal
version of a victory dance. Me and my ATP go into this waltz like dance! I
spin it around the hole and just listen to that sweeeeet 89-91,over and over and over! LOL

Finally I get down to business and I gave the ATP a "dip" to beat all "dips" and then dug.

Here's what I saw:

I've always worked with a theory.
That every place was something else before it became what it is today.
This just continues to prove my theory.

My oldest silver ever!

Before anyone attempts to rain on my parade, I did some preliminary checking. The weight and size are correct. ;)
But, even if this would prove to be something other than I think it is, it still counts. After all it is my "book" after all. LOL

Thanks for taking the time to share in my happiness!

Gary, whatever character that coin has, was gained in the ground. It was uncirculated when it was dropped.

Minty fresh.

The high facet details on the stars, doesn't show up that well on coins I've seen called uncirculated.

Gary thank you for the clearer pics. That beauty deserves to be seen in all it's well defined glory. Details really pop out on that one. Prettiest silver I have seen here.

Congrats buddy on a killer old American silver.,Banner for sure in my book

Big congratulations, WHADIFIND. What an absolutely beautiful coin. Most of us will never find a capped bust anything- never mind a half! I'm a huge fan of your posts and I'm very happy for you. Best of luck to you - go find another oldie!

WOW ~ such a sweet find! I hope to someday dig a Bust coin . . . they are next to impossible to find in the western states.

CONGRAT'S!
Neil

I enjoyed the commentary. Felt like I was there. Makes all those pull tab digs worth it. Amazing find.

Old ground reveals it's self when you least expect it. many parks are old beyond their years. That's some nice coin.

The new pics are great!!! Minted then dropped!!!!!!! That baby is awesome!!!!!!:wav:

It's ok if you don't do the 'typical' victory dance...I just moon walked and did a head spin for you! I figure you'll be happily buzzing on that find for a long time. Awesome dig! :occasion14:

Awesome coin!! Find of a lifetime!!! Now get there and find another rarity!! Lol. Banner for sure!

Congrats on the recovery it's one that few will ever see coming out of the dirt looking anything close to this one!

What a great looking silver, it wasn't long out of the bag before it was lost and now she has been found to be enjoyed for many years to come.

You can never look at a park the same way again:thumbsup: AWESOME silver:notworthy:

It certainly got my banner vote.....

Yeah, mine too. I saw an administrator on the thread yesterday and thought for sure it was going up top, but...
Maybe they were waiting on the better pics...ok, that's no excuse now...

Kudos on the sensitive cleaning, which appears to me to show the piece was plated a long long time ago. I love it, sweet historical piece.
