Got together this morning with Burdie, Monty, Mental Granny, and grandson to hunt some spots I've gotten permission during the winter.

The brush and thorn trees were a bit of a pain..literally. But everyone persevered and got through it. Monty worked his way through with little blood loss.

and M.G. (Evy) spent a bit of her time playing in the barn finding part of a bridle bit.

and I found an old car....probably some Bonnie and Clyde wannabe's. lol

We decided to head to another old homestead site, but didn't stay long as it was too trashy. Burdie and I had an owl fly out of the house and buzz our heads as well but didn't hear it whisper any names so think we're ok.
So off to the 3rd site which I was told was an old Indian Summer Camp. We checked with the local residents but they were a bit shy and couldn't help us. :D

So we all took off in different directions trying to locate exactly where it might be on the range. Monty and M.G. discussed some plan of action.

We found several of these little dams or something in the middle of a stream bed. Anybody know exactly what they might be? ???

Burdie had dug several targets along with some strong false signals that he couldn't locate. Might be easier if the residentual patties dry 1st.

All in all though, it was a great day to get together and hunt. Temperature was near 70 and sunny with a nice breeze (for Oklahoma...15 to 25 MPH is a nice breeze. LOL)

Finds to follow. Thanks for looking and reading. HH!

Gosh that looks like a great time! I see these pictures and miss you all the more. :-* Looks like sooo much fun!!!

Nana

Nana, I think there was a lot of names whispered but none fit to print---darn thorn trees. LOL But you should have seen Burdie's face when I had him check the pin signal. He said it registered as a silver dollar.

I wondered why Stoney kept looking at us that funny way. We threatened to break his arm and he stopped fooling around! :D ;D I thought it was my new aftershave. Glad Gypsy straightened that out! And I'm totally glad Stoney ain't weird! M :o nty

Great post and you guys look great!Sorry I missed that invite call.Burdie, you may not have gone to the casino then but I'll bet you have been there since!Good thing Monty was there to handle crowd control.Nice finds, guys.MG,that ol' barn looks really inviting,I would hit again. My detectors haven't haven't seen batteries since Nov.Hurry up Spring.

No, it's not a lipstick tube. I'll clean it up and post it on what is it. It looks like copper and has a slit down one side. Appears to have been a tube at one time before it got flattened. I think I have seen one similar on the forum before, but can't be sure. Monty

Ok, brought in the brass tube like thingy and figured out what it was. I was using a tooth pick to dig the dirt out of it and it suddenly started coming out red! The more I dug the more solidified red stuff I dug out. So, what I think it is is some lip gloss that comes in a small vial looking thing with a plastic brush to paint it on the lips. I have seen my wife using something similar. I found the squished vial but the brush is long gone. I also found a brass suspenders clip, a piece of a clock wheel and a brass grommet. Interesting junque but no cigar! M :D nty

Civilman 1 get your butt out here. We can put Indian headdresses on and detect that camp site again.

Burdie

I think we did more exploring and prospecting than we did detecting. Definately will go back. Otoe or notoe with or without headdress. Monty

Well Stoney, I thought we were all about half off. :D Glad to know we are only 1/4 off! :D Monty
