Congrats on the silver.

From the wear the quarter might of been in circulation for 20 yrs.
Some soils are kind and don't do much to silvers.
Digging a key date and a thumb rub might rub the value in a negative direction.

I found a silver quarter in a friends yard and went and got him to flip the plug and pull the coin and go clean off the dirt. It is a well worn 1940 but with the D mint mark and much rarer than a 1940 philly coin. Anyway...he rubbed the dirt off before getting it wet and it's all scratched up from that and ruined any real numismatic value it had.
Not a big deal but I sure wish I had cleaned it correctly.

either way. i find the historical and educational value far exceeds and monetary value; in all finds. Just to think about who may have carried a thing piques my interest more than any other aspect of an item :p

Didn't say it was this one was.

What if it was this one instead.
One thumb rub away from taking the $$$ out of the equation.
