8th Annual THs cookout challenge!!

I'm holdin out on ya Kevin...I actually found THREE...cannons...

And just out of curiosity...anyone got any idea about the specs on them?

Bore diameter maybe 6" or 059.JPG so...looked like a softball would just about fit. No signs, no history, no nothing..just mounted on those little carts...

*BUMP*

27 Days until a modern day pirate invasion!!

Thoughts...

1) If you HAVE NOT....pledged to throw a few bucks toward the cost...please consider doing so. If you HAVE pledged..I'm fairly confident it would lesson Chucks logistical impact if he had assets up front.

2) I hope to arrive in the area thursday prior to...anyone else able to help Chuck with set-up, gopher work etc etc etc if needed? I'd bet a few hands would be appreciated...

3) Who's bringing booze, and where can I find you? Please leave me detailed instructions...I'm here to help!!:occasion14:

Looking forward to meeting some of you characters ....

Regards,

Ag

I've been MD'ing for a couple of years in Tennessee, but have read Robert Marc book and dreamed of the 1715 Fleet for a long time. I moved to Daytona Beach two months ago and have made two trips to the treasure coast since then, but haven't found anything (yet). I work nights at a Hilton and go detecting or fishing during the day, weather permitting. I think the cookout is an awesome event and plan to be there. I look forward to meeting people and picking up tips on finding some silver! I hope a twenty dollar donation upon my arrival, along with a covered dish will be acceptable

Look forward to meeting you!!

cychuck, As agflit stated. Welcome to Treasure Net. Look me up at the cookout. I'll be the Mean, Grumpy Old Man wearing a t-Shirt that says grumpy old man. I'm not an expert at anything, but if you want to, I'll take you over to the beach and show you where I found some silver. I don't think it's a spot that most people go detecting.

I think that was the lead in your pants that dropped out and rolled under your metal detector.

I'll definitely be looking for the t-shirt that says Grumpy Old Man. I was down there about three weeks ago and a worker at the McLarty Museum pointed me to a spot about three miles north of the inlet, saying that there had been some recent finds up there. I tried the spot for a couple of hours without success. But my lack of experience at beach detecting, along with only having an Ace 350, probably didn't help. But, hey, if it was easy, there wouldn't be anything left to find.

Ag,

Excitement is ok for youngsters like you and me but we have to be careful with most of the guys like Old man, Aquanut, Salvor6, and of course Ropesfish who can't take too much elevation of their blood pressure.....
