69 points, knives, and drills from my collection. All found in north west Alabama, the circle of points in the top right are some of my oldest consisting of one bifurcated point(unsure exact type)located at the bottom of the circle, going clock wise in the circle next is a Palmer point, then a Decatur, next a Crawford Creek, and last is a Thebes. As for the rest of the board they are mostly Bakers Creek, Mud Creek, Smithsonia, etc. As for my drills the two long ones on each side of the large point in the middle, they are squared off on both ends and the one on the left is rather thin and flat. Havent seen any others like them nor found anyone who has. I dont believe they are drills but instead small blades created by a potter for a specific purpose. Anyone has any knowledge on them or theory please share. The larger one is over 2.5 inchs. Thanks for looking oh and im not sure what kind it is but thats a tooth on the far right under the circle. Any info someone can give me on it would be cool too.

Killer grouping. Nothing better than that, just good, solid Deep South points. Of course, I'm a little biased, I know. Only thing I would change would be to cut a piece of black velvet about the size of the overall frame and tuck it between the foam and the frame with a butter knife and watch how they pop, especially all the beautiful reds you have. Fantastic collection there, Draco!

Oh, and those blades on either side of the red Savannah are cool as hell. I can't say that I've ever seen anything quite like 'em.

Could that be a shark tooth? Just a guess I know nw Alabama ain't known for it's sharks though

I'm from central Alabama. You got an impressive collection

Nice collection. Those heat treated points have some beautiful colors. I don't think we have Thebes here in Alabama. Try looking up expanded notch bolen on that one. Either way a wonderful piece.

Really nice collection, great colors too. Frames are a little crowded, maybe send me a dozen or so to make room in your cases?! ;-)

Chip is right about changing the color, the right color makes a BIG diff !!!! Nice looking frame....

I think you nailed it, Bookums. You can see a little E going on with the tiny nips midways of each notch.

Light will break down that foam over time, too.

Excellent display arrangement, Draco.

You have a great collection. I like how tight, and puzzle-like this display looks.

I dont find many red ones in this area mostly black and quartz little blue and gray. Skunk flint is rare to like the one in my avatar. You have some real nice finds.

killer frame!!!!

ve looked at the Thebes and Big sandy E-notched Im looking up the expanded notched bolen now. Where i hunt for arrow heads my families had the land since the 1880s and its basically riddled with living mounds for all periods and theres been several out of place artifacts found here. When i was a kid my uncle found a 7 inch spear head (dont know what type i was pretty young at them time) but it was made out of black obsidian. This use to be a pretty heavily populated spot, a lot of trading went own here. Not saying i think your wrong and i appreciate the help.
