Rebel, we have been down this road before, liberal, conservative, libertarian, independent are not derogatory comments.... Call me conservative in a post it is not an insult as I am conservative, I am basically a blend of conservative and libertarian in my beliefs....

Since none of us even know each others names, never mind anything about each other I think it is rudely presumptive to think to place a label on another person. And like rush, Fox News, etc etc of course people use liberal as a derogatory term. Just as politicians and popular press has since the Reagan years. If someone wants to honestly disagree go right ahead.

And for the record I am a registered republican -fiscal conservative, social liberal but in the end am a free thinker on every single issue. Would encourage everyone to think for themselves instead of following the "party line" of the left or the right

I'm a liberal that believes in the Constitution as written through the eyes of the men that wrote it, "I'm a liberal that believes in every single one of the amendments in the Bill of Rights, I'm a liberal that believes in due process of law, that believes no president no matter what party he is from has the right to declare an American as a target for assassination or execute an American on American soil with out due process of the law.

I'm a liberal that believes you do not tax the working people to subsidize those who are too lazy to work, I'm a Liberal that doesn't believe you spend your way out of debt, that doesn't believe the best way to create jobs is to increase taxes on the very people that build the jobs we need, I'm a liberal that does not believe in the more government we have the better we are, I'm a liberal that does not believe in forcing socialist program on the citizens of this country... I'm a liberal that believes you do not give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens through executive actions violating the Constitution.

I'm a Liberal that is willing to defend the Constitution and the Bill of Rights when I take the oath, and I will not violate it 3 years after I take it much less 46 years later......

I'm a Liberal that believes "The Right Of The People To Keep And Bear Arms Shall Not Be Infringed" and that means I have the right to own as many guns as I wish including AR-15s or any semi-automatic rife or gun I wish to own, that I have the right to not have my guns registered if I wish and that I have the right to defend that right.........

I'm a Liberal, but some people might call me a Conservative or think I am a Republican or call me right wing.....................

You know it's funny that I was just thinking the same thing. Aren't these armed folks in every school the same people who hate the fact that have have Tsa agents and security in every airport How do you reconcile the two positions. Lets just have armed people everywhere and then we will look exactly like the type of totalitarian government that everyone says they fear.

I have a very good relationship with quite a few law enforcement folks of various kinds, and I can tell you that they're professionals that are rigorously SELECTED AND TRAINED; in fact their training never ceases. I've trained with them and I can tell you that despite my life long association and proficiency with firearms, I am NOWHERE near as good as these guys.

Law enforcement is many times more professional than they were a couple of decades ago; it's a necessity, and made possible by better training.

I know a lot of guys that shoot, but none of them are as good as the LEOs that I know. And many are a lot less than good.

So, while we may have a lot of guns on the street, not many of these will be trained much if at all. I don't have a good feeling about that. And if you don't agree, please re-read this entire post.

One thing I've learned a long time ago is that with firearms goes humility. It's a lot safer that way.

Completed agreed I have great respect for all who carry the gun and put their lives on the line.

I went to the social security office today in California to change my address, there was an armed guard in front of the people in the waiting room. At 86 years old I never dreamed this country of the free would become this way. God have mercy on the U.S.

Just more government intervention trying to solve all our prob. I guess I'm just a little too much of a libertarian to go down that road. TH you can't keep looking to the government to solve all this country's issues.

What a shame....If your GPS hadn't got lost you could have marked the spot and went back later with your metal detector.....
Probably flipped from the weight of all that ammo. Shame you took all of it with you on that trip...now you don't even have a single round left.

Quote me if I'm wrong but he said "God have mercy on the US" not "God bless the US". People don't generally ask for "mercy" if they are doing something right or for the good. That is clear as the sky is blue no? Just my opinion.
