But he said he found this coin with the CTX 3030. What am I missing?

Hi all

Found today in the Med sea, -9m scuba diving using CTX 3030

Found with CTX3030

I've had hard time with my CTX 3030 to make it Submersible. CTX is so much better then Excal in terms of sensistivity that even if it's not designed for, when the depth is "almost compatible:laughing9: "

I choose to dive with my CTX and take the Excal as a backup on the boat.

He stated he took an excal with him for backup.

Um... I just simply asked what his EXCAL 2 settings were...
I am FULLY aware that he found what he found using the 3030...
In beginning of thread we discussed this...
He stated that he also uses an X2...
Was just curious to what settings he was running "over there"...ON X2...
...
Ya see my mind works like that... I think of these odd things like SETTINGS in various parts of the world on detectors I USE.
Some water and bottom situations might require adjustments...
Who the heck knows unless you ask....
was curious is all...
I could care less about the 3030 settings... In my opinion... it IS NOT a water detector NOR should it be used for one.
Anything less than a 200 ft water rating is "Water Resistant"... Which makes me... care less.
I am interested in what he is setting his X2 at OVER there.

Got you!

Excalibur are "easy" detectors to hunt with, wet & dry sand or scuba
:
All metal or Discr 1 (scuba: All metal PP)
Threshold till you hear it, but I like to hear it a lot espacially for deep little signals, "old style detection"
Sensistivity 7/8 (I don't have any more numbers on it, so I think it's around..) just before it becomes unstable, depends of the coil. Can go higher with the 8", and lower with the WOT

I'll post some videos of scuba detection with excals, don't worry

THERE WE GO !!!
heh...
SEns = 7-8... THATS what I was after !!! heh
Same here ... sheesh :)

Sense varies from beach to beach, even changes from one side of beach to the other sometimes.

Yes, you get use to it, you change it gracefully a few times during the hunt.

CTX 3030 Auto mode is good, Minelab made a great job on it, especially the overdrive (AUTO +1/2/3 or -1/-2 functionality works fine) and I use it MOST of the time.
I did some test by coming back to manual, and appears to increase depth on ground search on very little coin such as those one:
