5 hour Sunday Hunt at the Watermelon Patch

Since I really don't care for Pro Football I made a late decision to hit the patch Sunday even though Charleston had rain last week and again Saturday.Even in the soogy conditions Managed to dig 2 Large Cents that need cleaning. I somehow have managed to pull 5 LC"s in last 3 weeks. Also a crusty buffalo some flat buttons a musketball and a couple Oyster shell buttons. I still have a bag full of encrusted items to go through and clean hoping a surprise or two will pop out

Somehow I missed your post this morning. 5 Large Cents in 3 weeks is awesome.
Folks must have been Large Cent Poor in this area.

I don't care for watching sports on TV either. I would go throw or kick a ball anytime, but I cant seem to watch it on TV.
Its really sad that some americans can get so caught up with their TV sports, but haven't a clue about life changing world events that happen on a daily basis.
To me TV sports is just another Dog and Pony show to keep the masses distracted and entertained.. Similar to what the Romans did with the Coloseum games.
I wont get political here, but we all should be screaming, "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore".

Well that's my Rant.

I wish NC wasn't so far. Id love to join you guys on a hunt one day. Ooops I meant SC, but is there even a difference, lol.

Man id drive 12 hours to find one large cent if I were a single man. If I drove to SC my wife would kill me. I would have to bring her along and turn it into a family vacation and if that happened I probably wouldn't have time to MD. With that being said, it doesn't look like I will be coming up anytime soon, but thanks for the offer.
My old man used to say, "never bring a ham sandwich to a B-B-Q".

The schools and ball-fields are just substitute/filler until better sites/locations come along.

Well BP I understand about the wife thing. That's why they have Divorce CourtA Charleston vacation would be a Great trip. A Beach, Historic Slave Market, Ft Sumter, The Hunley,The Plantations, and you could go to Several Museums and see All the things you won't be finding on your trip because she made you leave your machine at home. And BTW Yes BIG difference Between SC and NC. SC doesn't have CT and Todd Lipe

Never been to Charleston. Ive always loved history, museums, and such.
Maybe it would/could make for a nice vacation and road trip.
I think she might let me bring my detector if I ask nicely, lol.
I could probably drop her at the beach or the mall for a half day or so, but I definitely wouldn't be able to hunt as much as I wanted to.

Maybe its my deep southern roots, but ive always figured persons above Central Georgia to be pretty much lumped into one category.

Those LC are cool as heck . Still never Dug a Complete one.
