All day water hunt with BigMike. Flat, calm, clear water and enough targets to keep us busy. Today was my day...4 rings which is rare for me...14k 5.1 gram gold band, 19.2 gram Triton tungsten, ladies ring marked 14k G. E....whch is Gold Electroplate and a little junker. Saw a little 3 foot bonnet head shark and plenty of stingrays...Havent seen gold in the scoop in some time so it was a welcome sight. The gold ring signal was a double beeping mid tone so I sifted the sand out of my scoop real slow and watched the gold band appear...I just stood there and smiled...good luck to everyone.

Wow! What a hunt - Congratulations!!! :notworthy:

Awesome day you had :notworthy:

Yeah, I can tell with my CZ21 that they are bottle caps because it will give an iron tone when I move the coil to the edge of the target...but hearing those mid and high tones with the iron, I just dig them sometimes to make sure...I left as many as I dug.

Hello Sweet Yellow!! Strong work LD!
With my Excal the Corona and Heineken and old worn down caps with lots of crust sound to close for me to pass up! One time digging a target I said to myself I'm so good I know this is another bottle cap!
NOPE it was a gold ring 8 ins down! What a smack to my fragile ego! Wow thinking what did I pass up before! Going to test the ATX iron check on a variety of caps, very interesting!

I'd smile , too , if I saw that one in my scoop, lookindown; that one 's a "BIGGIE" for sure!:headbang:

I like the "Star-like" design on the band.

Congrats on fine detecting...again!~

Great hunt LD - Too bad those Tungsten's aren't worth anything, I find soooooo many of them!!! Great job on rescuing the Gold !!!
I didn't think they had any resale value either. I looked them up on E Bay and pre owned tungstens were selling for two or three dollars but Triton tungstens in the style I found are selling for $20 to $35...its going on E Bay.

Not a bad day at all..... must have been a bonnet head day, I got a close look at a 3-4 footer yesterday too.

That was the first shark Ive seen in five years of water detecting.

That's a good hunt for around here these days. Gold has definitely been elusive.

Wow everybody is killing it on the rings today! What an awesome hunt.

Sold the Triton tungsten ring for 29.99 on E Bay...I thought the gold band was light for its size so I acid tested it...it took about a minute but the 14k acid ate the scratch mark away...It held strong to the 10k acid...so even though its marked 14k, its somewhere between 10 and 14k.

That's a great price. I list them, have several like that one, on a buy&sell FB page for $15>20 dollars and have sold a few. My best was $45 for one with a single diamond. SS

Yeah, I was very happy to get 30 bucks for it...didn't think any of the tungstens had re sale value until I looked at the sold listings on E Bay...Triton was the only ones that were making any money.
