Although I missed todays hunt I wanted to post this video for everyone to see. These are the guys I go with all the time in the woods, water and underwater. They all work hard today was a day we all hope we can have someday, today was Johns turn.

I would get them all fully IDed including their varieties (just in case).

There is a 1857/5, can't tell but it might be?
1858 has large & small date
1862 needs a close look, lots of very rare & valuable types.
1859 1/2 no need to check, only 1 type.

And be VERY careful on handling / cleaning.

Do not store together... put each in own small bag or coin card.

First picked up a detector in 1970.
2020 will make it 50 years that I have been involved with this hobby. I have never found a Gold Coin.

No unfortunately its not my find and I wasn't there. These are my hunting friends and one of them does the videos "Detectorcomparisons". I saw the pictures as soon as John found the coins. I asked them if they minded me posting the video here on Tnet and they said go for it. I actually am pretty sure John IS a member here but he hasn't gotten back to me about that. We live easily 100 miles apart so its not unusual we don't all go on the same hunts. Ill get back and let you know if he is/is not a member as soon as I find out. Hope there was no confusion about me not being the one that found them, it was in the narrative in the first post.

Outstanding find! This should be a banner for the digger! From past posts I understand the person who gets banner must be the finder. Since this post is assumingly ineligible, could the digger post pics and his story and be eligible? I would try it.
Either way, who cares....that is freaking awesome
