My name is Wyatt, and I'm a "beep"-a-holic.

I had an errand to run this evening.....and it was 73 degrees. I decided it wouldn't hurt to just stop at that last yard I was working for just a little while....then continue on my errand.

I'm glad I did. I hadn't been to the front of the house at all....only the back away from the house. I found the 2 quarters in the same hole by the sidewalk.....and around back I found the 41 Walker at 3 inches....I can't believe it. I was always under the impression that folks just didn't lose these things.

I have found a walking liberty half every 3 days since the 6th of this month. I swear it must be the alignment of the planets or something. I actually had every confidence that I'd found a half dollar this time. There was no doubt in my mind. The obverse was facing upward....and is much darker than the reverse.

I suck at quitting....so maybe I'll just "cut down".

Wyatt, somehow I knew you weren't quite ready to hang it up. ?Why? ?I too am a beep-a-holic, so I know how it goes. Glad you got out again, and great finds there. ?The Walker is fantastic looking. ?I am curious though, is there a date on the SLQ?

The standing Liberty is dateless. I found 2 this year....neither had a readable date. It's a type II, so at least I know it wasn't a 1916 or 17 type 1.

It's hard to quit fishin' when they're really biting. And man have they been biting....

Great wyatt,You are on FIRE these past couple monthes. With results like you get ,how the heck can you quit?WTG!! HH

Congrats Wyatt ;

? ? ? ? ?73 ?

?I Don't Think it broke 60 here & it was FOGGY & Drizzilin all day ?:(

I can't quit "cold turkey"...that's for sure. Most of this little town has never seen detectors.....I'm certain of it. I used to hunt back in the 70s....but I have never found this many pieces of larger silver in such a shrt time. The snow and ice will make me quit soon enough.....until then, some short hunts can't hurt.

Yep.......I was driving up I-79 and had all the windows open on my little PT....as it was still 68 degrees at 6:30 pm.

AHHHH!

I knew my post would do it for ya! ;)

Nice finds today "my season's over" Wyatt! :D

Nana ;)

Now....who's next to change their mind? :D

Thanks everybody. I am absolutely dumbfounded at this streak of luck. If I quit now....maybe I won't have a chance to look for a walking liberty half on the 18th.....hope the weather holds up so I can try and keep the streak alive.

Oh yes! Last Merc of the season! No detecting for 5 months! Hanging up the detector! It's ok to make a liar out of yourself! Nice stuff!

I just couldn't help myself, Spotz.....I had an extra 30 minutes....which I stretched to 45 or so.

Unless I take the detector out of the car.....quitting won't be possible. The back seat belongs to the 6000. It's with me anywhere I go....which might be part of the problem. ;D

I just looked up the weather forecast.....It's supposed to snow tomorrow night. I may be getting some assistance with hanging up the detector. Go figure....73 this evening...37 for a high tomorrow....and snow tomorrow night.

Bet they're wrong. The predicted high for today was 60.....not 73. They blew that "call" by more than a little bit....I hope that trend continues.

Wyatt

Great finds and congrats on the old silver! HH, Mike

Thay say things come in three's,,, You must be starting over on the Walker's... ;D
Great Digs,,, WTG!!!
Good luck & Happy hunting~

Superb finds Wyatt.

Keep it going man. Don't let the temperature stop you!

Hope you can get out some more.

There are some things you dread starting over on......but starting on another trio of half dollars, well that doesn't upset me any. It sounds funny...but every time I see the edge of a half....I'm thinking come on Barber half, Barber half....I guess that'll have to wait until I get to some older sites.

I keep wanting to ask the "old timers" if they remember half dollars being this plentiful in the first days of detecting. I was detecting in 1978....and I never got into them (halves) like this. It sure does make it interesting. Heck...I don't want to Jinx myself, but my first silver dollar just might be laying in this town somewhere. Now that would be really cool. I've never found a silver dollar.
