Hit the homesite that I stumbled onto a few days ago walked it slow and dug everything above iron on the D2. This site wasn't showing on my 1872 plat and was kinda strange very little pottery or glass and only a few chunks of stone. Majority of the signals were buttons ranging from the 50s to low 80s, the 1857o half dime came up a 87 and 1901 Barber was a solid 90! This makes 26 buttons off this 1 site , wondering if someone thru some old clothes out here.

Congratulations on the 2 silvers and the buttons.

Sometimes one wonders why so many buttons at a site. I have one site 50 buttons, 1 Half Penny.

What a fantastic bunch of finds - congrats ! :hello2:

Seems like we find so many Buttons around old home sites because Clothing was just left there when the house was abandoned.
The Clothing rotted away and now there's Buttons everywhere.
Or, they just weren't very good at sewing Buttons on in the 1800's :tongue3:

VERY NICE FINDS you did FANTASTIC how did you come across the site ?

By accident , was talking back to my truck after hitting the site I named Shield Nickel site and was still swinging my D2

Did you find any leftovers from old toothpaste type tubes? My opinion on buttons
and clothing clips, etc. is that many people incinerated their trash and then spread the ashes on the land.
Sweet barber and seated! Thanks for sharing.
