Got out today to a new site - a hill in the back of a field. Looks to be 2 separate sites. One site produces strictly 19th century stuff onward and the other side of the hill some much older stuff. Only a small area where the stuff is mixed together. I didnt discover the older area until the last hour so will hit it again tomorrow. Not many signals but some appear to be very early and there is scattered glazed brick strewn about. Spectacle buckle and nipple button and boss. All broken! lol - Not sure how old the knife is. Nice cuff link design. I am very pleased with the large cent. Most I find are pretty well shot.

I was shocked when the spectacle buckle popped out. Thought it was a fluke until I found the rosette and nipple button just a few feet away. 15 min later it was time to leave.

What time span were the nipple buttons produced? Only found 6 or 7 of those total in 25 years of hunting. The last site I found some produced a couple 17th century Bolivian cobs.

Hour school delay for fog!!!! Ahhhh....!!!

Its doesn't much look like the nipple buttons I find which hardly ever have the iron loop (any rust residue on rev?), but if it is British made they started close to 1640s.

Its completely rusty on the reverse. I'll have to get my others out and compare. I photographed it from the side because its hard to tell there is a nipple otherwise.

No need for a picture then.

Great detail on the LC CP! Looks like you're on a killer site. Hopefully that killer site is hiding some silver

Amen to that. I recently hunted a couple 1800s sites which produced 16 coins and NOT ONE was silver! ITS TIME PLEASE LOL

Wow,nice digs! Everything you found has such clarity and great patina. The LC is a winner for sure. Go away fog!

When I started detecting last year the big coppers started jumping out of the ground. I couldn't find an old silver to save my life. Then one day I found a 2 Reales and a seated dime. Since that day I've found a pretty fair amount of early silver. They certainly didn't lose much of it on a normal colonial site. Hopefully they were as careless with it as they were with buttons lol

You really do get some nice stuff my man. The cufflink is really nice, and looks old. I am a coin guy, so that LC makes my eyes hurt. Excellent detail on both sides... Very well played! GL&HH.

That's a lot of nice early finds! Beautiful draped bust! Hope you get some nice early silver on your next hunt! HH!

Nice !
Beautiful condition on the D Bust . Wonderful finds you recovered from those early sites .

Keep it going and Good Luck in 2015

CMDdawg ;)

Man, that cent is something else!

This is your site. You will find silver and gold! Nice copper, too. Lol.

That's great detail. It must have gone in the ground almost new;)
