Before you ask them to send it off ask if what the chances are it might come back body bagged (ungraded). I have a 1916 SLQ that I was going to send to PCGS that turned out to be cleaned, and the shop I go to said don't, that they and NGC would bag it and I would be wasting my money. They suggested I send it to ANACS, as they would grade a cleaned coin. I know your is not cleaned, but coming of the dirt might cause some issues. If they say that PCGS or NGC would body bag it, then send it to ANACS (they are the third of the top tier third party graders). They will grade and slab it, and you will get a pretty accurate grade on it.
Thanks wayne1956. He said that PCGS would not grade it. I will call ANACS and see what they say.

Wow! I was surprised to see this on the banner. I spotted the 8/7 variety instantly just from the banner because my second SLQ ever found was 191x-s and just for the heck of it I looked them up and labeled mine a "1918-s (8/7)", because it obviously was until someone had to go and rub it 500,000 times.

Any SLQ with a readable date is incredible in my book, but this is just plain nuts for your first SLQ! Huge Congrats!!

Holy smokes!!!! congratulations on your awesome SLQ, banner for sure!

Thanks Merf. I hope you find a rare coin and a valuable one.

I sent the SLQ 1918/7-S to ANACS today.
It's the first time sending in a coin for grading.
I'll post a picture of it when I get it back.
Happy hunting.

I got the SLQ back from ANACS. VF-20 Damaged.
Now it's going to Heritage Auction Galleries.
