1905 House turns up more coins & relics

Today, Bob (RWSNC) and I met at the 1905 house I recently got permission to detect. It was a hot (94 degrees) and humid southern day. Even the mosquitoes were sweating! ;D We hunted for about 4 hours and recovered some pretty nice relics.
It took me 30 minutes to remove my soaking wet wedgie when I got home. Sorry, no picture of that. :tongue3:

Bob's finds were:
*1912 "V" nickel (lucky dog) :icon_thumleft:
*1912 & 1919 "S" wheats
*Two decorative buckles
*Pocket watch pieces

My finds were:
*1926 Merc (Yeah Baby!) :headbang:
*1913 Buff nickel
*Wheats- 1918 (x3), 1926
*.58 musket ball
*Coca Cola knife - The engraving & style look to be fairly old. Any idea on the age?
*Brass whistle w/ball still inside (cork?)
*Pocket watch pieces
*Asst'd crappe'

Thanks for looking & have a great weekend,
MM

Looks more like Type 1. Just from what I can see and compare.

Some very nice coins and relics there MM. You guys deserved what you found to brave the dangerous heat and aggravating bugs. Just think what you will find in a couple of months when the weather cools down and you get more moisture in the soil. WTG and stay COOL!!!

Re: 1905 House turns up more coins & relics

I just checked the link DJH sent me above, and there were pictures of the type 1 & type 2 Buffs.
After seeing that, mine is without a doubt a type 1. Looks like they start out at $11, so not a bad find. ;D
Thanks everybody. :icon_thumleft:

Way to go, Dugster! It is good to see your permissions producing relics and coins for everyone!

Did you squeeze your sweat-drenched undies out before throwing them over the banister? :laughing9:

Chris and I got out for a 20-mile bike ride in the morning and then we headed out to do some detecting after that! Kirk scored a killer coin that he will post tomorrow, I believe! :headbang:

The CocaCola relic steals the show. Even dug, it will have some value. Very cool item--you don't see much CocaCola memorabilia dug, Ever.

Great Stuff.

Thanks Big K,
Permissions seem to come pretty easy now. I'm looking forward to getting back to the 1800's & Colonial spots again in the fall.
I got a picture of my undies drying out on the line. They go great with my summer dress. :icon_queen: :toothy4:
20 mile bike ride! I would die. Was it a tandem bike? :tongue3: ;D
I did take a 20 mile car ride today though.
Looking forward to seeing Kolonial Kirk's find. :icon_thumleft:

Thanks Buck.
I have the Coke knife, so now I need to find a Coke spoon. :tongue3: ;D Just kidding of course.
I agree, you don't see mant dug Coca Cola items pop up. The letter styling looks fairly old.
I would love to find a few tokens at this place.
Have a great week B,
MM

Dugster,

Hey, bud, nice work once again! I hope to see you in some of those Colonial North Carolina fields in the fall.

Keep searching hard and you will dig some more ancient goods! :icon_thumleft:
