Great find Mike ! You were richly rewarded by the detecting gods for your efforts on that one. I'm sure it was frigid out on the water there today. I didn't even want to go out to start my car.

Looks like silver but doesn't polish to a shine like silver. A good 1/4inch. I've never seen that before this ring.

there are very worn engravings on the inside, when the ring was resized, they cut out or through the engraving. on one side it says "From XXXXX" and the beginning of a date that starts with "1" then the start of another character that is covered with solder. on the other side of the silver extension is very clearly "02". Art Neveau was late 1800's to around 1910. So, I reasonably can say with those clues and seeing dozens of engraved dates that "02" is for 1902.
