Haven’t posted in this section for years but I figured this was a good enough reason. Took the X-Terra Pro out to a farm woods yesterday, equipped with the 6” EQ coil. I hit a fairly decent but jumpy signal and unearthed this guy! An 1870 3 Cent Nickel. The most exciting part was having no idea whatsoever what I had found until I did an image search. I truly had no idea this coin even existed until yesterday. The detail is so amazing that it’s probably been buried for nearly all of its 154 years. What a fun find!

First off, we rarely see those posted, secondly, NEVER in that kind of condition- that is as pristine of a 3 cent nickel as I've ever seen dug, and for the record, I've been at this for 32 years and never found a 3-center of either kind. Major Congrats for that little beauty!

Thanks, Jeff! Maybe it has something to do with our extremely cold winters here in MN.
