Not quite the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow on St Patty's Day, but a close 2nd. I took a trip to the old seminary built in the 1850's that i'd found another seated coin at. Got a nice solid coin signal on my MXT and dug about 6 inches down and stuck my pinpointer down in the hole and saw a glint of silver

Simply beautiful John! That is one nice Seated half! Are you going to get it graded? Congrats on the awesome find.

What a rush it must be to pull a coin like that out of the dirt!

Congratulations!

Gorgeous!!! Absolutely gorgeous!

This coin should remind all of us to be prepared to find a coin like this everytime we go out.
Make sure you don't get the urge to rub the coin to get the dirt and dust off of it. Bring some small ziplock bags with you or extra handkerchiefs to put the coin in. Put it in your pocket or other safe place in your pouch where it won't move around to much. Run it under running water to get the loose stuff off, pat dry, but just don't rub it.

Thanks for showing us! Congratulations!...........HH

absolutely beautiful find. I don`t know if i could stop after finding one that nice. Way to go.

What a terrific find! I would love to find one like that! Some comments may be a litlle optimistic however, EF detail, net grading with the damage and multitude of hairline scratches is going to be VF at best. Probably $75 retail, $40 - $50 dealer buy price. I can just imagine the adrenaline pumping when you saw it!

What a beauty! Let's hope this is part of a hot streak for everyone: a ten dollar gold piece, Barber Half, Seated Liberty Half...

WOW that is sweet. I'd say at least a $150 coin there.
