I was using my whites xl pro detector at a construction site in redlion ohio near a know shaker settlement when I found this spoon. It appears unusual with no markings of any kind on it.I was attracted to the area when there was a news report on shaker artifacts being found at a road construction near where I found this. They stopped construction for a short time so that artifacts could be saved and recovered. Any help on id would be appreciated.Thanks.

I have a book called ''KOVELS' KNOW YOUR ANTIQUES '' And in the spoon section there's a diagram of one just like yours dated 1760 .

your spoon has the Detached Sheel Pattern...circa 1740
On the back of the handle ...get out your magnifier...should be small maker marks...can be one or several....can you see these?

i agree with the 18th.century date...shaker? a little too elaborate for a shaker item don't you think? shakers are well known for simplicity.none the less OLD spoon, too bad it's bent(can be straightened)cool find!
