1798 Draped bust. buttons..silver.ext..

So finally had a day to hunt longer then a hour...I had alot of fun.
Even Treblehunter came up for a little bit.
Although he left to soon...Right after he left I pulled the draped bust out.
I love hunting areas were there was foot traffic for hundreds of years. .
The best find for today was a button that has RP on it with a crown..Its made of pewter I belive its from the revaluationary war. It was found were the British was camped...Hope its the real deal...

Hey George.... I'm pretty sure that pewter button is a Royal Provincials button. It is sideways in the picture, but I can clearly see the RP. Whether its real or re-enactment, I don't know but cool find!! That LC is awesome!!!

Awesome finds!!! I found my first draped bust same date a few weeks ago. I was stoked. Nice button and silver. That slug, I found one of those once, didn't know what it was, how old is it?

yes, every one I found was good news. Well except for the condition!

Nice buttons and your Large Cent in very good condition. Not sure if you attributed the variety of the 1798, so darn many of them, but seeing it appears to have a rim break at RTY on the Obverse and it seems to have to center dots on the reverse, I believe it is a Sheldon 173 variety, which is usually ID'd by those two attributes I mentioned. Dots hard to see, so not 100%, but all does seem to match. Don
