Scouted out an area in the woods and was fortunate enough to find a site.
Dug this 1796 Liberty Cap around the southern end of the cellar hole, and it's got some really nice detail for a dug coin.
Also got a knee buckle frame and an unusual amount of large flat buttons. No GWs yet though.

Very nice recoveries. That large cent certainly has above average details for a dug copper

You're right about the condition. Not bad at all for something out of the ground. Looks like you've got a nice site with that many good targets in one hunt. Hit it until the ground doesn't make a sound. :occasion14:

That 1796 is sweet !! Looks like a really good site you found--pound that spot :occasion14:

Great looking copper. It’s almost hard to believe that copper coins can stay that nice after 200 + years. I became a believer after my buddy Abe took me to a site where I dug a near perfect 1749 Farthing. And he’s dug a few mint ones himself. They’re out there and you got a really nice one! Congrats!

Beautiful coin in great shape!! Congrats!!

Killer coin find! :notworthy: Nice job on the relics! :occasion14:

That’s one nice coin buddy. Great recovery
In my opine. This is a banner coin
Looks condition , age and details are just perfect
I love it. Hh gl.

Killer coin, 1700s US. and such nice shape. Wow. I’m used to seeing coppers from the farm field, and they don’t look like that one.

Congrats on a really nice find sir.

OMG!!! If I ever found that coin I would be doing way more than the gold dance. Literally a gorgeous coin in great shape. Simply incredible to me. Can I have it? : laughing
