This past weekend I found this & it is so much thicker than any other coin I have found so I thought it was a slug. After cleaning, I could see the strawberry leaf at the bottom or some type of 3 leaved leaf, so I am thinking this may be that coin. I can't see a date, so I am guessing about the year...

Your going to join the club Don watch

That's the year of LC I want.
Can you tell what type of edge ?
IDable 1793 = great find.
I cannot make anything out on the edges, I am going to send it to PCGS so they can tell me the variety. I think this would be worth the expense to find out...

I will do that by Sunday at the latest, I am going back to the site to grid with my buddy Steve in SJ tomorrow. Shawn Yancey is definitely legit....

Nice hit on the wreath cent! It shouldn't be hard to attribute as there are only 9 or 10 varieties of wreath cent. A couple are quite rare. Regardless of the variety, a wreath cent is a wreath cent is a wreath cent. Way to go!

Amazing find! Only a little over 63K minted- a true rarity! Congratulations...

I bet the diggers in Northern Delaware aren't too happy about the market being cornered on these just over their heads! :)

Great finds!

That's a sweet one right there. Certainly not your run of the mill Large cent. Awesome find! :headbang:

From details I see, the Sheldon 7 is supposed to have the smallest right leaf, Don's does not appear to be smaller. The Sheldon 8 three leaves look entirely different than Don's from what I see. So, I kind of agree with Ia Fur Trade, it MIGHT be a Sheldon 5, based on the three leaves seeming to match.

Hey Don not for nothing but if the guy I sent it to said its a 7 or 8..You better believe its a 7 or 8....He is one of the world renowned copper guys. ..He is the guy experts go to....
